The Census
of Marine Life hosted a workshop to investigate what is "Known,
Unknown, and Unknowable" about seamounts on August 22-24 at the
Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon. The goal was to
develop a plan to energize research over the next 5-7 years. The workshop
resulted in a strong call for a Census of Marine Life program on Seamounts.
